In this article, we are going to outline three HVAC troubleshooting tips for common problems you may experience. These are also issues that you may be able to fix yourself.

1. HVAC Wear and Tear

This is one of the most common HVAC problems you can face. If you’re noticing that your unit has not been performing as well as it used to be, it may be due to wear and tear.

This can occur even if you have your unit regularly serviced.

What we can suggest here is to try to diagnose the problem as early as you possibly can. This will limit the wear and tear and allow one of our HVAC professionals at Beyer Air Conditioning and Heating to catch the problem before it gets worse.

2. Correcting the Thermostat Settings

The next tip we’re going to go over is in regards to your thermostat settings. If your thermostat settings are incorrect, it can drastically affect how well your HVAC is working.

Our advice is to go over your thermostat settings on your entire HVAC system. This is because a setting may be off that’s causing the entire system not to work. It’s a small, obvious thing. However, sometimes simply adjusting the thermometer settings provides a simple fix.

At Beyer Air Conditioning and Heating, we have a lot of experience servicing everything HVAC-related in the San Antonio, TX area.

3. HVAC Ignition Issues

The third tip on our list involves ignition issues that you may be having. These include ignitors, pilot lights, and a variety of electrical components that may actually need to be replaced.

We suggest that you examine the manual that came with your unit to try to identify the various parts that they consist of. If you understand the parts, you might be able to troubleshoot which part is causing your ignition issue.

Sometimes it’s as simple as your pilot light not being lit. Be sure to check for that.
